To the Under Secretary for the Colonies,
I beg to acknowledge with thanks the grant of 25% increase & by pension. I should be most grateful for substantial pension, having worked hard to support myself and three children since my husband's death. I would not trouble you, but really find it a great hardship living abroad so many years, and my health being bad, breathing difficulties, I am unable to work & struggling.
